A pundit has theorized that Martin Odegaard uses a covert signal to predict the kind of corner that Arsenal will take.

Arsenal ended a run of bad results at the Emirates by demolishing an out-of-form Crystal Palace team 5-0.

Gabriel headed in the first of the Gunners' two goals from corners, and the Brazilian defender then forced an own goal past Palace keeper Dean Henderson for the second.

Additionally, former Swansea and Wales defender Ashley Williams gave credit to Martin Odegaard on Match of the Day for the Gunners' success from set pieces, saying he was telling the taker where to position their corner.

Williams provided the following explanation in his game analysis: "We can see they have worked on whether it's a front-post corner or a back-post corner. There's always a trigger for what the movement's going to be.

"If you keep a watch on Odegaard, we sense—perhaps because we've got too much time on our hands—that he might be giving the corner taker a hint.

With their victory, Arsenal goes up to third place, over Aston Villa. Jurgen Klopp's team now has to ensure that they maintain their lead at the top when they play Bournemouth on Sunday.

In contrast, Roy Hodgson's team has only won once in 12 games played in all competitions.
