EPL has been cleared to restart the season from June 1, provided certain criteria including no new coronavirus infection cases.

The 50-page document, titled "Our Plan to Rebuild: United Kingdom government's COVID-19 recuperation method," consists of "allowing cultural and sporting events to take place behind closed stadium for broadcast, while avoiding the risk of large-scale social contact," if some of conditions relating to restricting the unfold of the virus may be met.

What's the next step?

The return of Premier League football moved one step closer on Monday following a virtual meeting between clubs and shareholders.

Players will now return to training on Tuesday while maintaining social distancing measures.

Date for the restart?

The Premier League had previously identified June 12 for matches to possibly start again, behind closed doors with no fans in attendance.

But there is now an expectation that Premier League will return on June 1st.
