Arsenal Vs Manchester City 1-1 (4-1) Pen Kicks

Community Shield winners: Arsenal!

Arsenal 4-1 Man City

Vieira is the next man up for Arsenal!

And he does it. He sends the ball beyond the dive of Ortega to spark the celebrations for Mikel Arteta and his side.

It's a fantastic penalty right into the top corner. Ortega had no chance.

Arsenal win the Community Shield!

Arsenal 1-1 Man City

FULL TIME! We go to penalties at Wembley!

GOAL! Arsenal 1-1 Man City (Trossard, 90+11)

Late, late drama at Wembley!

City clear the initial corner but Arsenal recycle the ball.

Trossard feints to shoot to create some space.

He gets a shot away and it takes a huge deflection off Alavrex first and then Akanji, wrong-footing Ortega, and the ball trickles into the back of the net.

We look to be heading for penalties...

Arsenal 0-1 Man City

90+10' - Deep into added time now as Vieira's cross is cut out at the near post.

It's now or never for Arsenal...

Corner to Arsenal...

Arsenal 0-1 Man City

90+8' - Odegaard tries to thread the ball through the eye of a needle for Trossard, but the pass is cut out as City clear their lines.

Arsenal 0-1 Man City

90+5' - There's a nasty clash of heads between Walker and Partey in the City box.

Play will be paused here.

The medical staff are taking their time over these head injuries, and rightly so.

Both Walker and Partey are sitting up and getting bandages put on their heads.

Arsenal 0-1 Man City

90+1' - Here we go...

This will be the norm this season.

We will have 8' of added time...

Arsenal 0-1 Man City

87' - SUBS! Gabriel is replaced by Smith Rowe, while Vieira replaces Havertz as Arsenal search for a late equaliser.

Arsenal 0-1 Man City

84' - ANOTHER BIG RAMSDALE SAVE!

If Arsenal get back into this game they will have Ramsdale to thank!

Rodri dives in at the near post to divert De Bruyne's corner goalwards.

Ramsdale reacts quickly to make a vital intervention to keep City's lead at 1-0...

Arsenal 0-1 Man City

82' - BIG SAVE! Ramsdale keeps Arsenal in it.

White cannot control the ball and Alvarez pounces.

He slides the ball through for Foden, who takes a touch to take it around Saliba.

He gets a shot away but Ramsdale makes a superb block to deny the England international.

Arsenal 0-1 Man City

80' - SUBS! Changes for Arsenal as Rice is replaced by Nketiah.

GOAL! Arsenal 0-1 Man City (Palmer, 77')

Breakthrough!

It's a special finish from Palmer.

Tierney doesn't deal with an attempted through ball. The ball rebounds to De Bruyne, who heads it into the path of Palmer.

He shifts the ball on to his left foot before bending the ball beyond the dive of Ramsdale and into the top corner.

Ramsdale had no chance.

Arsenal 0-0 Man City

75' - SUB! A change for Arsenal as Martinelli is replaced by Trossard.

Timber, who has had a decent game, is replaced by Tierney.

Arsenal 0-0 Man City

74' - CLOSE! De Bruyne swings a cross to the back post but it is just out of the reach of Alvarez.

Arsenal 0-0 Man City

70' - BLOCK! A lovely move from Man City.

Foden turns on the ball and plays in Palmer, who takes a touch before getting a shot away.

However, Timber is out quickly and he gets a block in with the ball taking a deflection and looping over the crossbar.

Arsenal 0-0 Man City

68' - CHANCE! White fizzes a low cross into the box and you'd think it just needs a touch to give Arsenal the lead.

Partey runs onto it and he fails to make contact with the ball as City survive.

Arsenal 0-0 Man City

66' - YELLOW! A booking for Gabriel as he gets in the way of Ortega as he looks take a quick free-kick.

Arsenal 0-0 Man City

64' - SUBS! More changes for City as Haaland is replaced by Palmer.

De Bruyne is also coming on. He's replacing Kovacic.

Arsenal 0-0 Man City

59' - Another challenge Arsenal are not happy with.

Saka nips in a wins the ball from Dias, who follows through and his studs land on the Arsenal winger's boots.

Free-kick to the Gunners but no further punishment for Dias.

Arsenal 0-0 Man City

58' - SUB! Changes for Man City a Foden replaces Grealish.

Arsenal 0-0 Man City

52' - SAVE! Stones powers a header towards goal but the effort is straight at Ramsdale, who pushes the ball into the air and away from goal.

Arsenal 0-0 Man City

46' - SECOND HALF! Man City get us back underway at Wembley...

I'm sure it won't be long before we see changes from both sides but so far, it's the same set of players that started the first half.

 Roy Keane on ITV:

"It took Arsenal 30 minutes to get to grips with the game but they certainly looked sharper than Man City going forward."

Arsenal 0-0 Man City

HALF TIME! That was a decent half of football.

Plenty of ebb and flow at Wembley as Man City dominated the opening stages before Arsenal took control.

The Gunners created the better chances with Ortega denying Havertz on a couple of occasions. The second chance the former Chelsea forward should really have done better.

But it stays all square at the break.

Arsenal 0-0 Man City

45' - There will be THREE minutes of added time at the end of the first half...

Arsenal 0-0 Man City

42' - CLOSE! Rodri has Ramsdale scrambling.

We saw Man Utd goalkeeper Andre Onana beaten from halfway yesterday, and it was almost Ramsdale's turn.

Rodri spots him off his line and clips a glorious effort towards goal from way out.

Ramsdale back pedals furiously and luckily for him, the ball drifts over his crossbar.

Arsenal 0-0 Man City

39' - BIG CHANCE! Arsenal are camped inside the City half now.

Odegaard slides the ball through for Saka, who cuts it back for Havertz.

The German international is in a brilliant position but his shot is straight at Ortega, who makes a smart block.

Havertz really should have scored there.

Arsenal 0-0 Man City

34' - Arsenal are growing into this game.

Martinelli's cross is deflected behind by Stones.

Corner to Arsenal... which comes to nothing as Martinelli swings the ball straight out of play.

Arsenal 0-0 Man City

31' - YELLOW! Another booking. This time Alvarez kicks the ball way and he's cautioned.

The players will have to learn pretty quickly here. We could have some extremely soft red cards in the opening weeks of the season.

Arsenal 0-0 Man City

20' - Better from Arsenal.

Havertz brings a long ball down and holding it up before laying it off to Martinelli.

It launches a Gunners attack down the left as Martinelli looks to play in Timber on the overlap, but a combination of Walker and Rodri mop up the danger for City.

Arsenal 0-0 Man City

17' - Better from Arsenal as they finally get a foot to the ball through Havertz.

Rodri then gives away a foul as he drags back the former Chelsea forward.

Arsenal think Rodri should get a booking, especially Arteta, who is furious on the sidelines.

Referee Stuart Attwell is ticking every box this afternoon. The promised crackdown continues as Arteta is booked for dissent.

Interesting stuff early on in this game.

Arsenal 0-0 Man City

16' - Just the 84.2% possession for City. Arsenal have completed 21 passes. In 16 minutes.

Bukayo Saka challenges Jack Grealish

Arsenal 0-0 Man City

14' - CLOSE! Partey is holding his hands up to apologise to his team-mates.

He gives the ball away right on the edge of his own penalty area and it allows Rodri to get a shot.

The City midfielder scored in the Champions League final back in June and he was so close to the opening goal here.

The ball just flicked off Rice and flashed wide of Ramsdale's upright.

Arsenal 0-0 Man City

8' - YELLOW! Another foul from Partey as he flicks out at Alvarez.

The Arsenal midfielder then flicks the ball away in a bid to slow down Man City, and he is shown a yellow card.

A sign of the crackdown on dissent we have been promised from referees this season.

Partey now has a tight rope to walk after that silly booking.

Arsenal 0-0 Man City

An early glimpse of Arsenal's new record signing Declan Rice...

Arsenal 0-0 Man City

6' - CHANCE! An important touch from White in the Arsenal penalty area!

Akanji catches Saka sleeping and he gets in behind the England international.

He delivers an excellent cross into the six-yard area but it looks like White gets a crucial touch to the ball ahead of Alvarez.

Arsenal 0-0 Man City

4' - Arsenal press high as Havertz, Odegaard and Saka charge around as they look to win possession.

However, Man City's passing stands up to the test and they beat the press to get up field.

It's like we've never been away!

Arsenal 0-0 Man City

1' - KICK OFF! Arsenal get us underway at Wembley...
