Prehysteric & Profit represented two states as they came straight out of the gate and exhibited themselves as two hip-hop heavyweights on Burn One, their joint debut release. As Prehysteric flexes his cerebral swagger through the syllabic contortions in his bars, Profit drops synergy into the mix with his heavy-with-charismatic-weight energy. From the opening stretch, the pair set a high bar by refusing to dilute their instincts, arriving fully formed as emcees capable of commanding their own lanes while sharpening each other’s edges. Their dynamic holds an immediacy that makes the whole collaboration feel like something sparked in real time. Together, the two emcees wax lyrical, bouncing off the polyphonic synths, jazzy hip-hop motifs and drippings of funk that give the debut single an edge carved on its own terms.
